Anggun Cipta Sasmi (born in Jakarta, April 29, 1974; age 35 years) is a singer from Indonesia who now has French citizenship. She is the daughter of Darto Singo, an Indonesian artist and Dien Herdina, a woman who were relatives of Yogyakarta Palace. [1] He began his career with Ancol onstage at age 7 years, [2] Anggun then recorded an album of children 2 years later . [3] Under the guidance of Ian Antono, Anggun debut in Indonesia in 1986 through the World album I've Got. [1] At the age of very young Anggun has successfully reached the peak of popularity as a rock singer in Indonesia with respect achieved "Artis Indonesia Popular 1990-1991 ". Anggun is the first daughter of couple Darto Singo, an Indonesian artist with Herdina Dien, a housewife who was descended from the palace of Yogyakarta. [edit] Leaving Indonesia and the early days in Europe
In 1994, Anggun decided to leave his career in Indonesia in order to fulfill his dream to be an international singer. He then sold the record company and move to Europe with her husband, Michel de Ghea. Gracefully settled in London, UK for a year to start his career again from the bottom. He diligently sent demo tapes to various studios in Britain and also go to the clubs to introduce himself as a singer. On June 24, 1997, first album titled Anggun Au Nom de la Lune released into the French market. Anggun's first single, "La neige au Sahara", captured the hearts of music enthusiasts to France and even Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. [5] The single was recorded as the song most often played on French radio in 1997 and became one of Hits Summer '97. [6] Through this album, Anggun now transformed from a tomboy rock singer pop singer who became a romantic and sensual. Album Snow on the Sahara was released in the United States in May 1998 by Epic Records. [3] Anggun perform during the nine-month tour in the country to promote his album. [19] While there, Anggun was invited by singer Sarah McLachlan to perform at Lilith Fair, a festival of American music around her. [14] Anggun also perform at the New York "Sessions at West 54th" and became the only Asian singer who had the honor of appearing at the Divas Live in Las Vegas. In 1992, Anggun young married with Michel de Ghea, a French man. It is said that marriage was originally not approved by Anggun's family because of the huge age difference and age Anggun still too young to get married. Along with Michel, Anggun and then migrated to Europe to make big dreams. The couple settled in London, England since 1994, and later moved to Paris, France. Unfortunately after 7 years, this marriage ended in 1999.
Since settling in Montreal, Canada in 2003, Anggun began a relationship with Oliver Maury, a political scholar Canada. The next year, this relationship continues into marriage through a simple ceremony in Bali. Maury was then appointed manager of Anggun. But then again failed marriage in 2006.
